Fashion Jewelry
Fashion jewelry is a term that encompasses most of the jewelry that you’ll find in an average woman’s collection. It refers to anything that’s not bridal jewelry in essence. Bridal jewelry comprises two rings, the engagement ring, and the wedding ring. Everything else, earrings, necklaces, even right hand rings, falls under the heading of fashion jewelry.
Because it is such a large category, fashion jewelry can be somewhat disparate from itself. Comparing things like hip-hop ice to a strand of freshwater pearls doesn’t seem possible, after all they are about as different from each other as it is possible to be and still be jewelry. But that commonality (jewelry) is all it takes.
Most styles of jewelry really fall under the heading of fashion jewelry. Whether it’s made of gold or silver, whether it features diamonds, pearls, sapphires, rubies, emeralds, or some other stone, whether it’s worn by a man or a woman, it really is fashion jewelry first, and whatever else you want to call it second. So don’t be surprised if you go to a jewelry store and don’t find a case labeled fashion jewelry. A quick word with a salesperson will get you pointed in the right direction.
