Body Jewelry
Body jewelry is a market that has recently come into its own. Twenty years ago it was considered outside of social norms to have body piercings, but today it is socially acceptable, if not quite the cool thing to do. There is a definite culture surrounding piercings today, and the jewelry to accompany them is quite visually stunning.
Body jewelry can be almost anything. One category that’s very popular is belly button rings. A belly piercing is the most common piercing location other than the earlobe, although it requires a little more conscious effort in dressing to show one off. Other popular piercings include labrets, upper ear, and even nose studs.
The truly adventurous body jewelry enthusiast can get into things like tongue piercings or studs. You can even have a metal plate inserted under the skin to fasten studs to, which creates quite a unique visual effect, but can be difficult to keep healthy. The metal plates are easy to reject, and care must be taken to not let them get infected.
